We exist to help people move from potential to opportunity, through education, mentorship, and access.
ESA brings together remembrance, identity, and a commitment to carrying a legacy forward through service and opportunities for others.

In honour of the Founder’s late father, Hassan Shakati Mohammed.

“We believe every person deserves to be seen, supported, and allowed to flourish.”
ESA Legacy Foundation is a Nigeria-based nonprofit registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission. We are committed to nurturing human potential and strengthening communities through compassionate care, education, mentorship, skills development, inclusion, and meaningful opportunities.
We believe that knowledge inspires growth, skills create opportunities, and opportunities transform lives — and that one empowered person can empower another, creating a ripple of positive change through families, communities, and society.
I don’t have the power to change the world, but connecting people to the opportunities they’ve dreamed of is its own kind of dream come true.
I never knew my parents, Edirin and Shakati, the way most people know theirs. Instead, I came to know them through the stories, values, and love they left behind. Building something in their names felt like the best way to honour them.
Life has taught me what it means to hope for opportunities that never come, and to understand the feeling of wanting more but lacking access. That experience shaped my belief in helping others whenever I can. Why not?
ESA Legacy exists to connect talented people with opportunities they might not otherwise have. Through education, mentorship, and skills training, we hope to walk alongside those who have the drive and simply need a chance.
One opportunity, one person, one skill at a time.
The Holy Family Sisters of the Needy Home for Orphans & Vulnerable Children — Bwari, Abuja, Nigeria
We visited the Home with donations of educational materials, essential supplies, and refreshments to support the children’s learning and everyday needs. We hope these contributions encourage learning, nurture creativity, and support the children in their educational journey.
This visit marks our first formally documented outreach since the Foundation’s registration — and our commitment to accountability and sustained community impact.
Together, we create everlasting change.
Our work responds to different needs across the life journey — from children’s wellbeing and learning to equipping young people with the knowledge, confidence and skills to pursue new opportunities.
We bring learning materials into schools — writing materials, mathematical sets and sanitary pads — and mentor students on personal hygiene, girls in technology and personal development, so they approach their futures with confidence.
Every girl should be able to manage her period with dignity. We provide sanitary pads to girls each month and open honest conversations about menstrual health — reducing stigma and helping girls stay in school with confidence.
Alongside health care providers in Borno State, we bring deworming support from qualified health personnel with a snack pack for each child — caring for their health and wellbeing.
For students nearing the end of secondary school: digital literacy, responsible media use, information verification and practical tech tools — with mentorship and exposure to small businesses and pathways beyond the classroom.
A one-week programme for boys aged 12–17 where strength meets empathy — emotional wellbeing and life skills alongside digital literacy and online safety.
The Sustainable Development Goals are 17 interconnected goals adopted by United Nations Member States in 2015 under the 2030 Agenda. Our work speaks most directly to five of them.
Learning materials, mentorship, digital literacy and skills for students.
Child health and nutrition, menstrual health and emotional wellbeing.
Menstrual dignity, girls in technology and support for the boy child.
Digital skills, entrepreneurship exposure and pathways for young people.
Removing barriers to learning, wellbeing and opportunity.
Access to education, mentorship, practical skills, wellbeing resources and relevant networks help people make informed choices, develop their capabilities, pursue opportunities and contribute more fully to their communities.
Ambition without exaggeration. Every programme follows the same honest cycle.
We welcome volunteers, institutions, businesses, philanthropists and development partners who share our commitment to education, mentorship, skills development, inclusion and wellbeing. Every contribution matters.
